Quad-Performance
Nutrition and Training Specialist

  • Provide basic individual-centric nutritional coaching to a variety of populations. From general populations, special populations, to the physique competitor.

  • Perform detailed client assessment of current eating habits and patterns, health history, injuries, stress level, sleep patterns, menstrual health and social/psychological influencers, all of which affect body composition and dietary needs. 

  • Evaluates body composition using circumference measurements or directing clients to DEXA scan facilities. This process requires a serious conversation and explanation about optimal body fat levels. This topic has proven to play a key role in setting realistic client expectations.

  • Educate clients on types of diets and determining which approach the client can be most adherent and consistent with.

  • Educate clients on the value of each macronutrient group and the roles each play in physiology and ultimately their ability to change both body composition and improve health.

  • Determine caloric intakes using National Institutes of Health Body Weight Planner which assess body weight and activity levels necessary to meet their personal weight management goals.

  • Determine ratios of the macronutrient requirements using the position statements from the International Society of Sports Nutrition. 

  • Educate on the difference between nutritional strategies used for weight maintenance, body fat reduction, and muscle building.

  • Identify specific areas clients struggle with in dietary compliance in either their environment, behavior or relationships.

  • Set S.M.A.R.T. goals with clients focusing on one behavior at a time to create a host of other changes.

  • Teach tracking methods: food tracking using macro app +, hand measurements (Precision Nutrition), Chronometer or My Fitness Pal.

  • Provide detailed feedback to clients on their progress and determine if and when intermittent or continuous caloric restriction should be used as well as refeeds and cheat meals. 

  • Track sleep quality and quantity, emphasizing the need for sleep in metabolic and brain recovery and ultimately successful weight loss/management. 

  • Track resting heart rate and blood pressure as valuable bio feedback tools to teach clients about their daily health as it relates to stress, menstrual phase, sleep performance, and dietary intakes (insulin responses).

  • Educate women on a variety of women's health topics, including menstrual tracking and how to eat for their cycle and adjust exercise.

  • Encourage patient empowerment. Educate and equip both men and women with the knowledge they need to successful communicate with their doctors about their health. These conversations range from teaching how to evaluate their bodies to the purpose and importance of blood chemistry tests in preventing chronic disease.

  • Design and customize fitness programs tailored to client’s current health and lifestyle requirements.

  • Identify client needs and teach correct biomechanical exercise form and proper use of exercise equipment.

  • Identify and program to correct/strengthen previous injuries and weaknesses, in particular muscle and joint locations
